WARM GOATS WITH CREAM AND WALNUTS (chèvre chaud à la crème )

 

 

We love having people for dinner, but when we prepare a starter, we like to keep things incredibly simple.  This is just that. Easy Peasy. The tartness of the cheese and crème fraiche served with crisp apple slices is a fabulous combination.  It is a dish that nurtures the soul with its honest simplicity and flawless technique. A light combination of goat’s cheese It’s one of the best things you could ever hope to eat.

INGREDIENTS Serves 4

150g Butter
200g young goats cheese
200 g Crème Fraiche
15g chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon flat leaf parsley finely chopped
salt and Pepper

METHOD

Preheat oven to 200° C

Slice the goats cheese into 12 pieces

Butter 4 ramekins, Then put 3 slices of goats cheese in each one. Season the crème fraiche with salt and pepper, and then pour over the cheese divided equally between the ramekins

Top with more pepper and the walnuts. Bake for 15-20,

Serve Garnished with parsley and apple slices and don’t forget the crusty bread.
